Worldwide PIOLAX technology

PIOLAX is widely trading with overseas car makers as well.

For these past 15 years, we have worked toward developing our bases worldwide by expanding our production and sales bases in overseas countries as well as in Japan and by promoting business in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
Along with global deployment, however, establishing a solid system locally (i.e. in each base) is also important.

We recognize that our very mission is to establish such a "glocal (global + local)" system and survive in severe competitions. Recent years, we have been expanding our business to the fields of medical appliances and daily living equipment, in addition to automobile parts.

History of R&D

PIOLAX is committed to R&D to widely contribute to society as a creative, development-driven company with elasticity technology and an opinion leader in the industry.

Since its foundation in 1933 as Kato Hatsujo Seisakusho, PIOLAX has been working on research, development and production in relation to "elasticity" and "elasticity-used products" for more than 70 years.

  • Until mid-1960's, PIOLAX mainly produced springs for electric and communication appliances and precise metal springs for automobiles.
  • Then around 1970, it started developing and manufacturing plastic fasteners in addition to metallic springs, favored by rapidly growing demand of plastic fasteners due to the spread of automobiles in Japan.
  • In 1969, PIOLAX formed a technical tie-up with FT Fasteners Inc. (current TRW Inc.) in U.K. for the purpose of manufacturing industrial plastic fasteners.
  • In 1982, it jointly developed shape-memory alloy with Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. and TOYO LIVING Co., Ltd.
  • In 1995, it concluded a technology introduction agreement with RASMUSSEN GmbH in Germany and developed fuel supply auto parts.
  • In 1996, Technical Center was established in Hodogaya-ku, where approximately 200 technicians and engineers gathered.
  • In 2001, PIOLAX formed a business alliance with A Raymond SCS, a major French fastener manufacturer.

Currently, we are promoting R&D of single parts and module parts with metallic and plastic materials for automobiles, medical appliances and daily living equipment.
